Stained Glass Courses & Workshops in North Yorkshire

We can now offer half day courses aimed at young people for only £30. There is an age limit of 12 and over and there should be an adult known to the youngster to supervise.

We mentioned earlier our "Come and try" stained glass courses. We normally hold these one day courses at our workshops at Hutton le Hole. Day courses start at 10am and go on until approximately 5pm, depending on the progress being made by students on the day.

Our aim is that every student, even if you haven't worked in stained glass before, will go home with a completed stained glass item that you have made on the day. All equipment that you need is provided as well as the materials you will need to complete your project. However, at times you might wish to use rather more expensive glass or special items, such as new lamp bases, and there will be an extra charge for these items.

We teach both the traditional leaded and foil work and will be pleased to show one or both methods. All we need is for you to tell us which you will prefer to learn.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a day course is £85 for the day, including all instruction and refreshments, but not lunch. There are many good cafes and pubs nearby if you feel that you can tear yourself away from your course, many students brings their own sandwiches as they just want to get on with their work!

Can I bring a friend

Of course you can bring a friend, in fact bring two if you can. It makes the day even more fun if you bring your friends.

You can't make it on the set dates?

No problem just give us a ring and we will be happy to arrange a day to suit you and your friends.

Give us a call to find out the dates for our next courses and we will be happy to book you in. Look forward to hearing from you so you can come and try stained glass with us. Better still leave your details on our contact page and we will send you details of our "Come and try" courses as soon as our schedule for next year is completed.

Testimonials

"As a birthday present for my fiancee', I booked in one of Neils stained glass workshop courses which took place on a Saturday in the village of Hutton le Hole. Neil was extremely friendly upon meeting him and made us very welcome straight away. Neil has a very good approach to teaching his craft and my partner enjoyed every minute of it. I would recommend Borrans Glass courses to anybody that wants to have a go at making a stained glass peice and maybe start a lifetime skill. The best thing is you get to keep what you have made at the end of it. The "masterpeice" now has pride of place in our living room window and everyone is amazed at what can be made, with Neils expert help on the day of course! Great value for money and did I mention, the most important thing to Neil is how you like your coffee made!"

"The window is now in place and it looks fantastic. Many thanks for the course - really enjoyed it. Can't wait to get my starter pack and "get cracking" on another project."

"Neil you ought to be very proud of such workmanship, I arrived home from work at 5pm but did not get my tea until Teddy had been fited into our door the size was spot on there, being 3mm spare at the side and a couple of mm at the top."
